Matthew 27:35-44 Mark 15:24-32 Luke 23:33-43 John 19:18-27

Matthew 27:35-44 35  And when they had crucified Him, they divided up His garments among themselves by casting lots.  36  And sitting down, they  began  to keep watch over Him there.  37  And above His head they put up the charge against Him which read, “THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.” 38  At that time two robbers were crucified with Him, one on the right and one on the left.  39  And those passing by were hurling abuse at Him, wagging their heads  40  and saying, “You who  are going to  destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save Yourself! If You are the Son of God, come down from the cross.”  41  In the same way the chief priests also, along with the scribes and elders, were mocking  Him  and saying,  42  “He saved others; He cannot save Himself. He is the King of Israel; let Him now come down from the cross, and we will believe in Him.  43  “HE TRUSTS IN GOD; LET GOD RESCUE  Him  now, IF HE DELIGHTS IN HIM; for He said,

Matthew 27:31-34 Mark 15:20-23 Luke 23:26-31 John 19:16-17

Matthew 27:31-34 31  After they had mocked Him, they took the  scarlet  robe off Him and put His  own  garments back on Him, and led Him away to crucify Him. 32  As they were coming out, they found a man of Cyrene named Simon, whom they pressed into service to bear His cross. 33  And when they came to a place called Golgotha, which means Place of a Skull,  34  they gave Him wine to drink mixed with gall; and after tasting  it,  He was unwilling to drink. Mark 15:20-23 20  After they had mocked Him, they took the purple robe off Him and put His  own  garments on Him. And they led Him out to crucify Him. 21  They pressed into service a passer-by coming from the country, Simon of Cyrene (the father of Alexander and Rufus), to bear His cross. 22  Then they brought Him to the place Golgotha, which is translated, Place of a Skull.  23  They tried to give Him wine mixed with myrrh; but He did not take it. John 19:1-16

John 19:1-16 1  Pilate then took Jesus and scourged Him.  2  And the soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and put a purple robe on Him;  3  and they  began  to come up to Him and say, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and to give Him slaps  in the face.   4  Pilate came out again and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you so that you may know that I find no guilt in Him.”  5  Jesus then came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe.  Pilate  said to them, “Behold, the Man!”  6  So when the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out saying, “Crucify, crucify!” Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him.”  7  The Jews answered him, “We have a law, and by that law He ought to die because He made Himself out  to   be  the Son of God.” 8  Therefore when Pilate heard this statement, he was  even  more afraid;  9  and he entered into the Praetorium again and said to Jesus, “Where are Y

Matthew 27:15-26 Mark 15:6-15 Luke 23:13-25 John 18:39-40

Matthew 27:15-26 15  Now at  the  feast the governor was accustomed to release for the people  any  one prisoner whom they wanted.  16  At that time they were holding a notorious prisoner, called Barabbas.  17  So when the people gathered together, Pilate said to them, “Whom do you want me to release for you? Barabbas, or Jesus who is called Christ?”  18  For he knew that because of envy they had handed Him over. 19  While he was sitting on the judgment seat, his wife sent him  a message,  saying, “Have nothing to do with that righteous Man; for last night I suffered greatly in a dream because of Him.”  20  But the chief priests and the elders persuaded the crowds to ask for Barabbas and to put Jesus to death.  21  But the governor said to them, “Which of the two do you want me to release for you?” And they said, “Barabbas.”  22  Pilate said to them, “Then what shall I do with Jesus who is called Christ?” They all said, “Crucify Him!”  23  A
