Matthew 2:13-25

I am beginning to wonder if Joseph ever got a good nights sleep. The angels assigned to take messages to him had some busy days and nights. "Joseph you need to get out of town and go to Egypt before Herod comes and murders Jesus." "Okay Joseph go back to Israel its sorta safe now." "Well Joseph it would probably be best to settle in Nazareth in case murder is hereditary." All of this in direct fulfillment of God's Word. Moving is never fun, but with a small child and in that climate, it must have been tempting to stay in Egypt. I don't think the camels that Joseph rented down at U-Haul came with an air conditioning option.

Herod and his murderous plan did not take God by surprise. What a blessing that Jesus was protected from this insane man. Unfortunately, there were many other families devastated by the evil intent of this lunatic. Even in the face of tragedy we must take solace in the fact that God is in control and is able to deliver if that is what is in His glorious plan. Oh what a wonderful day it will be when we are no longer under the shackles and consequences of our own sin and the sin of all who share this cursed planet with us.

Joseph, Mary and Jesus had to FLEE to safety in FEAR of a sinful man. But in God's time and according to God's plan they were able FOLLOW God's leading in FAITH knowing of His protection and provision. There are times where, because of the sinful world in which we live, we must FLEE. But there is no need be controlled by FEAR for God really is in control and He really does work all things for His ultimate glory and our eternal good. We can FOLLOW the direction of God's Word in FAITH knowing that He is with us.

1 Timothy 2:11-15

Let a woman learn quietly   with all submissiveness.    I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man; rather, she is to remain quiet.    For Adam was formed first,   then Eve;   and Adam was not deceived, but   the woman was deceived and became a transgressor.    Yet she will be saved through   childbearing—if they continue in   faith and love and holiness, with self-control. 1 Timothy 1:1-2

Paul,   an apostle of Christ Jesus   by command of   God our Savior and of Christ Jesus   our hope, To Timothy,   my true child in the faith:   Grace, mercy, and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.
